Anxiety and stress in our pets and to facilitate the transition of terminally ill animals
Reiki can be used to alleviate separation anxiety that your pet may experience when you are away at work or on holiday. It can also help in calming unwanted behavior and help rescue animals settle into their new homes. Our pets sometimes just need to take a moment for themselves to off-load and find some balance in peace in their lives; and this is where Reiki can be of benefit.
Often animals will not allow themselves to transition because they intuitively feel that their owner is not ready to let them go. Doing a Reiki treatment can help both the owner and pet through this difficult time, by enhancing the bond and allowing a gentle and peaceful transition.

Reiki can be used in conjunction with all other holistic medical or therapeutic techniques as well as with traditional medical treatments to relieve side effects and promote recovery. It is a common misconception that Reiki energy is just for sick or injured animals. While Reiki energy can be used on a sick or injured pet, it can also be used as a preventative to any potential illness or ailment or to maintain the general well-being of a pet.
What an Animal Reiki session involves...
Reiki sessions may occur in your home, as its where your pet is the most comfortable. Animal Reiki in distance can also be performed as long as the pet owner is next to the animal. Reiki sessions for pets typically last around 40 minutes. The frequency of the sessions depends entirely on each individual animal's health status and needs. Some health issues can be resolved in four or six sessions, others may take ongoing sessions on a recurring basis.
An initial Reiki session involves getting to know your animal so I can gain a better understanding of your animal's background and history. What you would like to achieve with a Reiki treatment will also be discussed. It will be at this point where I will start the Reiki treatment which can last anywhere from 20 minutes or more depending on your animal and how much healing they need on the day. Most animals relax very quickly once the Reiki energy begins to flow. Many animals will 'twitch' whilst receiving Reiki. These twitches are completely normal and nothing to be concerned about. Usually seen in the legs and head, the twitches are little bursts of kinetic energy that physically 'jog' the body as the Reiki energy releases blockages and negative vibrations from within the animal's energy body.
Initial consultations can take up to 60 minutes and follow-up consultation can take up to 40 minutes.
